Dear Brother Knights, Sister Columbiettes, Family and Friends,
Hoping everyone and their families had a serene and blessed Easter Sunday.
On Sunday, April 7th, we held our annual Communion Breakfast starting with an early morning mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea. It was a fairly good turnout and I thank all those who attended. Father Joy, parish
Pastor showed his gratitude to the Stolzenthaler Council by inviting us Brother Knights to the front of the altar and praising our support to his parish and school and what the Knights of Columbus do throughout the world. I thank Father Joy for his kind and encouraging words. Returning to the Council afterwards, we all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast prepared by some of our valuable Brother Knights. A special shoutout to Past Grand Knights Bob Benoit and Steve Dolan, Columbus Club President Rich Scalise, Past President Dan DiLauro and Joe Viggiani. Thank you, Brothers. These events will never be the same without you.
At the conclusion of our breakfast, special awards were presented starting with this year's winners of the Scholarship Award with the honor going to Jack Power, grandson of long time Council member, John Manetta and Christina Scotti, granddaughter of Financial Secretary, Jerry Scotti. Congratulations Jack and Christina and may the Lord guide you both to a bright and successful scholastic future and what is to follow.
Being there are so many members who always step up to the plate to help out in Council events among other things, picking the Knight of the Year and Family of the Year has been one of the hardest decision for any Grand Knight to make. This year was a no brainer. The 2024 Knight of the Year was awarded to Brother Phil Devito and the Family of the Year to PGK Peter Fyfe and his wife, Marie, a current officer of our Sister Columbiettes. Congrats to you all and thank you for your hard work and dedication to this amazing Council.
On Sunday, May 19th, we will celebrate the annual Dan Duffy Memorial May Crowning Ceremony. Mass at the Council will be at 3:00 PM with a dinner to follow. If you know of any child of Communion age or younger that can participate in the Crowning, please let me know. Also, please contact me as well if you are attending.
In closing, I wish you a happy, safe and healthy month of May and God Bless you always.
Fraternally yours,
Dennis Maragliano, Grand Knight
